BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — When five seven-week old puppies were tossed into the canal in Bakersfield, two strangers joined forces to save the pups.
Agent Lee Henning with the Union Pacific Railroad didn’t hesitate when he saw five puppies get thrown into the canal near Edison Highway, he didn’t hesitate to jump in to save them. He didn’t do it alone—he had the help of a former rescue voluneer, Rhonda Voda.
