Officials with the Bakersfield Police Department said a fumigated home on University Ave. and Wenatchee Ave. was burglarized on Wednesday afternoon. 

BPD officials said they responded to the call at around 12:15 p.m. 

The Bakersfield Fire Department said that a woman who owns the home came by the house to take pictures of it with the tent on it.

She noticed a man step out of the house before running back in after he noticed her.

The fire department said they had to use power fans to clear out the chemicals from the fumigation before police could go inside.

BPD officials said no one was inside the home when police arrived to the scene.

The owner of the home reported to police that items were stolen from inside the home.

Police are currently investigating to determine the items stolen from the home.
