JaNell has a passion for journalism, poetry, and psychology. She’s currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Cal State Bakersfield. She has associate degrees from Bakersfield College in Psychology, Sociology, and Liberal Arts.

She has had a love for journalism since high school, starting on the Bakersfield High School newspaper. JaNell previously worked at South Kern Sol as a reporter before becoming a Digital Content Producer at 23ABC, where she creates content for various social media platforms.

She loves connecting with the community that raised her and enjoys writing stories that impact them.

When JaNell isn’t working on digital pieces or homework, she enjoys roller-skating, honing her unique style of poetry, and reading.
