2018 Diaper Drive

In an effort to offset some of the costs associated with raising children, 23ABC is pairing up with the Bakersfield Homeless Center and Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault to gather 23,000 diapers for families in need.

One infant can require up to 240 diapers every month, which can cost $72 a month or nearly $1,000 a year.

On November 12, you can begin donating diapers at various locations around Bakersfield. The drive ends on December 10.

The Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault serves men, women, teens and children who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Alliance offers many services to families in need, including:

  • 24-hour crisis hotline
  • Emergency shelter and food (up to 60 days)
  • 24-hour hospital accompaniment
  • Transitional housing (up to 24 months)
  • Licensed childcare (age 0 to 5 years)
  • Individual and group counseling (adults and children)
