BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - With virtual learning keeping students at home, parents are navigating new schedules and lifestyles, and that includes family diets.

23abc spoke with a local Dietician on how to keep a sense of normalcy while making sure your children are still eating healthy, even as they learn from the living room.

She says sticking to a plan will put an end to mindless snacking from the fridge during a school day.

“Not having a plan, I think it’s really easy to slip into, you know, just reaching and grabbing for meals and snacks that might not be as nutrient-dense, might not fuel the brain and the body as well for learning.” said Nicole Giumarra, a registered Dietician Nutritionist.

Tomorrow morning, 23abc's Kallyn Hobmann will have some tips and tricks for creating healthy meals for your family during the virtual school year.
