Cal State Bakersfield was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from the California State University Chancellor's office. The money will go towards programs that help with hiring and keeping a diverse faculty.

The money will also help fund the Leadership Academy, which can help faculty members early in their career.

It will include splitting them into groups and providing them with mentors among other things.
