Eight Kern County schools named Distinguished Schools for 2019

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Hundreds of schools earned some honors this year from the state and eight were distinguished schools from right here in Kern County.

Cesar E. Chavez Elementary, Buena Vista Elementary, Stockdale Elementary, Morningside, Endeavour Elementary, Fairview Elementary, W.A. Kendrick Elementary, and Midway Elementary were named Distinguished Schools for 2019 by the state superintendent's office.

323 elementary schools across the state were honored through the program.

These California Distinguished Schools, along with California Exemplary Arts Education Schools, National Blue Ribbon Schools, National Terrel H. Bell Awardees, and National ESEA Distinguished Schools, all will be honored on February 10, 2020, during an awards ceremony at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.
