BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is looking to treat the community to a safe and spooktacular time this Halloween. They will be hosting their 2nd Annual HalLAWeen event, inviting the community to trick or treat at BPD headquarters.

The event is happening from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Halloween this Thursday. Officers will be there to escort trick or treaters around the station.

It's free and children are encouraged to dress up in costumes. For safety reasons, BPD is asking parents not to dress up in costume for this event. Trick or treaters must be 12 years of age or younger to participate.
