BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — There's nothing quite like a good sandwich, right? With August being National Sandwich Month, a local eatery is reminding the community that their subs save lives.
The owner of Firehouse Subs on California Avenue, Mike Kamrani, says it's all about giving back to first responders.
"Three months ago, we donated over $25,000 to our fire department in Bakersfield," Kamrani said. "Occasionally we feed the fire department, we fed the CHP last Monday, donated 75 meals to the California Highway Patrol, and that way we give back to the community."
