How to get your pets ready for when you return to work

(KERO) — As more Americans get vaccinated there's a chance people could return in-person for work and school later this year. But that will leave many pets home alone again.

An animal behavior professor at Purdue University has some tips for making the transition smoother for your pets. She says work up to leaving for longer periods of time.

Even if you have nowhere to go just pull your car out of the garage and sit for a few minutes so they think you have left.

If your pets have a really tough time adjusting It's recommended you consult your veterinarian.
