Maroon 5 has likely been selected as the 2019 Super Bowl halftime performing act.

Variety reported the news Wednesday. The NFL did not immediately provide a comment. 

The selection of Maroon 5 continues the recent trend of pop-music acts to perform during the big game. Last year's act was Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga, Coldplay and Beyonce performed in years prior.
