BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Menuda enthusiast this cook-off is for you. Sunday the Druid Lodge #56 hosted their 6th Annual Menuda Cook-Off from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for the event were $10 at the gate.
Competitors had to show up the day of the cook-off and cook their menuda in the parking lot of the lodge. Cooks included local restaurants, members and prospective members.
J.P. Portillo, the lodge's president, said Druids are a local brotherhood centered around charity work and making the community better. The proceed from the cook-off will help them renovate their lodge to host more events for the public as well as help them raise money for a bike drive they plan on holding later this year.
The Druid Lodge is located at 501 Sumner Street in Bakersfield.
