Like every year, summer must come to an end. However, this year, fall comes with some extra special flavors. You can expect the usual array of pumpkin spice everything as well as some extra sweet new additions. And yes, there will be a brand-new limited-edition Oreo to tempt your taste buds. The new Oreos come in Maple Creme, and they look delish.

The new Maple Creme Oreos will be available by the end of August. Intrigued? I thought so!  Here’s what to expect with the new Oreos flavor. The Oreo cookies are golden Oreos and inside is syrupy sweet maple-flavored crème.

One serving, or two cookies, is 140 calories, 2 grams of saturated fat, and 12 grams of sugar. They aren’t a diet food by any means, but they look like quite the treat.

This past spring, food blogger @junkbanter broke the news about the new flavor on Instagram. The account was spot on with other limited-edition releases earlier this year and seems to be right once again with the Maple Creme Oreos, too.

“Bring on the new Maple Creme Oreos, debuting some time this year (I’d have to guess this will be a late summer release in advance of the fall season),” the caption read. “Not exactly the most creative flavor, but Oreo should do a good job with it. I’m thinking like the Waffles & Syrup Oreos without the butter flavor, and a more intense maple.”

The new flavor was later confirmed by parent company Nabisco as one of five new ones coming out in 2019.

Those fun flavors, designed to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth, also included the Marshmallow Moon Oreos, Mint Chocolate Chip Oreos, Latte Crème Oreo Thins and S’mores Oreos. They were released this spring and summer. Oreos are definitely on a roll this year!

These seem pretty tame compared to previous whacky Oreos combinations. Does anybody remember the Watermelon, Swedish Fish and Limeade limited-edition flavors? Those were more “OreNos” than Oreos, unfortunately, and I’m sorry for bringing back bad memories. However, it seems like the company has new flavors figured out a bit better these days.

These sweet treats won’t last forever, so don’t delay or may miss your chance at maple heaven.

Love the idea of maple-flavored treats? If so, you might want to try this recipe for maple butter-flavored blondies in your own kitchen. From blogger Fav Family Recipes, this food item gets its delicious flavor from brown sugar, cream cheese and maple syrup.

And the best part? It only takes about five minutes of prep time. Once the blondies are in the oven, you can make the sauce.  If you’re not ready to serve, you can store it in the fridge. Simply heat up in the microwave for about 30 seconds before adding over the blondies.

Or how about a no-churn ice cream sandwich recipe from blogger Flora and Vino? This one requires cashews, coconut milk, maple syrup and tahini to create a cool dessert for your table.

Talk about a sweet way to start the season!
