California is making it easier for nursing students to finish their degree requirements after the coronavirus shut down clinical training at many hospitals.

Authorities on Friday said nursing students left in limbo as hospitals curtailed hands-on training can receive up to half of their clinical hours through lab simulations.

Thousands of nurses had been left in limbo by the hospital restrictions at a time when the state is seeking more medical workers to fight the surging COVID-19 virus.
