SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — A driver who was shot after a Southern California police chase has died.
Bernie Rascon, 28, died at the hospital after being shot following a chase that began at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the unincorporated Muscoy area of San Bernardino County, KABC-TV reported.
The incident began when county sheriff's deputies tried to stop a pickup truck that had been reported stolen. The chase ended at a gas station in the city of San Bernardino, where the shooting took place.
There were no immediate details on what prompted the shooting and how many deputies fired.
No weapon was found on the suspect, authorities said.
