A 73-year-old Southern California woman who has spent nearly two decades in prison for killing her husband will be released while fighting her conviction because a judge agreed her health may be at risk from the coronavirus.

A San Diego judge on Monday ruled that Jane Dorotik can be released while fighting her conviction for the 2000 death of her husband, Robert. He was found beaten and strangled near their Valley Center ranch.

Dorotik's lawyers say she's innocent and the prosecution used false blood and DNA evidence. She'll be released this week and will stay with her sister under self-quarantine.
