BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The holiday season is here, and the inaugural Shop Small Bakersfield Scavenger Shop and Pop-up Market are bringing local businesses together to encourage the community to shop and dine locally.
Dozens of local businesses that do not have a brick and mortar store will be at the pop-up market.
Customers that receive stamps by visiting participating businesses will be entered into a raffle for a grand prize.
The event features holiday music and hot chocolate.
According to a press release, the goal of the event is to encourage consumers to shop from small businesses.
"This program encourages our neighbors to leave online and big-city shopping and to explore our town," Therese Dozier, owner of Luvspun. "Shop Small Bako helps introduce the community to businesses they might have otherwise never known about."
The pop-up market will take place at Dot x Ott, located at 930 18th Street in Downtown Bakersfield from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
