KCSO shares tips to help your child avoid online predators

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office has created a short video with tips for parents to keep their children safe online, after several high profile incidents involving online predators.

Some of those tips include knowing what apps your child is using, monitoring their internet usage and recognizing the signs of a predator.

Officials also said talking to your child and taking appropriate action is essential in helping to keep your kid safe.
