BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police are investigating a homicide Sunday morning after responding to reports of shots fired in Central Bakersfield.

Police said when they arrived in the 200 block of Eye Street they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the roadway.

Police said the man was pronounced dead on the scene shortly after.
