Happy Halloween! It's that time of year when nights get creepier and movies get scarier. We're sharing our list of some of our favorite scary movies you can stream online!
1. Tales From the Darkside (1983–1988)
Starting on October 1st, the AMC-backed streaming service, Shudder, will stream the complete series. You'll explore ghost stories, science-fiction and unexplained events.
2. The Exorcist (1973)
A mother seeks help from two priests when her daughter becomes possessed by a mysterious entity. This movie is now available on Netflix.
3. The Triangle (2016)
Three film makers are invited to experience the commune their estranged friend had joined. What happens at this commune with have your head spinning. The highly-praised film is available on iTunes, Amazon, XBOX, VUDU and Google Play.
4. House of the Living Dead (1974)
Breck, a murderous mad scientist, lives out in the vineyards in South Africa. He starts by killing local animals, but slowly transitions into killing humans. This Euro-horror film first came out in 1974. Starting on October 5th, Shudder will stream the movie.
5. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)
The film follows a female vampire as she terrorizes Bad City. The movie was made in 2014, but it was shot in black-and-white. You can stream it on Netflix.
6. The Host (2006)
A giant sea monster is terrorizing the city of Seoul, South Korea. The Host carefully selects what and who he wants. You can stream this film on Netflix and Shudder.
7. The Babadook (2014)
A mother-to-be lost her husband in a car accident on the way to the delivery room. Just after her son was born, she fell in love and resented him at the same time. Sam is not a normal child, he throws sinister tantrums and asks his mother, "Do you want to die?" You can watch this movie on Netflix.
8. V/H/S (2012)
Viewers have called this film "creepy" and "the scariest thing they have ever seen." V/H/S is a "found footage" horror movie that packs several short films into one movie. Shudder is currently streaming this movie.
9. Cropsey (2010)
This documentary explores the Staten Island boogie man who infamously killed children. Joshua Zeman and Barbara Brancaccio follow the legend and uncover a long-buried scandal surrounding the horrific Willowbrook Mental Institution - which inspired the twisted asylum in season two American Horror Story. You can catch this on Netflix and Shudder.
10. The Shining (1980)
Here's Johnny! A family moves in to a creepy hotel where an evil spirit haunts them during their stay. You can stream this on Netflix.
11. At the Devil's Door (2014)
You might recognize Glee's Naya Rivera and MTV's Awkward's Ashley Rickards. A teenage girl leaves high school and sells her soul to the devil. What could go wrong? You can stream this on Netflix.
12. The Changeling (1980)
A man decides to stay at a historic mansion far away from society. He finds himself being haunted by the presence of a spectre. This movie is available on Amazon.
13. Pontypool (2008)
Several employees of a radio station are trapped at work. Their broadcast shifts from entertaining the city to cries for help. You can watch this Canadian film on Shudder and Netflix.
