Bakersfield police need trainees for academy early next year

The Bakersfield Police Department is beginning to recruit trainees for a police academy at the start of next year, and while it will require many of the same requirements, it might look a little different due to the pandemic.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department wants you, to apply!

Applications for the first police academy of 2021 are now being accepted, with some slight changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sgt. Nathan McCauley joined the 23ABC Morning Show to talk about what is required and National Police Week which always concludes with Peace Officer Memorial Day.
