BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Keeping kids safe is a concern especially with back-to-school season in full swing.

23ABC spoke with California Highway Patrol Officer Robert Rodriguez on avoiding distractions while you're walking.

Officer Rodriguez also said the CHP will be visiting several schools this week and will have increased patrols trying to make sure roads are safe for this back-to-school season.
