23ABC Interview: NASA official David McBride excited for historic launch of Space X

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It might be the first private manned space flight in U.S. history, but the future of space travel has NASA officials feeling excited about today's historic launch.

A joint venture that will send Doug Hurley and Robert Behnken to the International Space Station.

The two NASA veterans have spent time in Kern County training through the years, both astronauts were part of several space shuttle missions.

David McBride, the Director of NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center, joined 23ABC LIVE this morning, to talk about this launch and provided some insight into the future of space flight.
