Alex Rubio has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for a high speed car accident that killed Princess Almonidovar in the early hours of January 3, 2014.

The crash occurred at Ming Avenue and New Stine Road.

Court documents indicate Rubio’s car was traveling south on New Stine Road at 118 miles an hour when he ran a red light and crashed into Almonidovar's car, killing her on impact.

Rubio's blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit of .08. Almonidovar also was found to have a blood alcohol level above the limit.

Officers say Rubio ran from the scene into a nearby neighborhood where police later found him and arrested him.
