Kern County fire crews are quickly working to contain a brush fire burning in the Stallion Springs area.

The blaze broke out just after 10:30 a.m. in the 19300 block of Longhorn Lane, according to Kern Co. Fire Dept. Capt. Nate Perkins.

The brush fire quickly crew to 20 acres, and emergency crews are working to protect structures in the area.

More than 40 firefighters have responded, along with a firefighting helicopter and two planes.
