UPDATE (March 9, 2017 2:24 p.m.): The motorcyclist who died in an accident in East Bakersfield was identified as 22-year-old Jorge Humberto Bojorquez. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A fatal accident was reported on westbound 178 at Haley Street in East Bakersfield Wednesday night.

The accident happened before 6 p.m.

No other vehicles were involved. Drugs, alcohol, and speed do not appear to be factors, according to CHP.

Two lanes of westbound Highway 178 were shutdown while CHP investigated.
