Kern County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a shooting near an apartment complex in Southeast Bakersfield.
According to KCSO officials, the victim was shot at while inside a car and crashed into a nearby building on Cottonwood Road near Cheatham Avenue. The victim suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The suspect is believed to have fled into the Camellia Garden Family Apartments which are near the scene. KCSO deputies are now searching the complex and investigating the scene.
