One person is dead this morning in South Bakersfield near the 300 block of South Union Avenue.

Bakersfield Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area and found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim only had minor injuries and was sent to a local hospital. The second victim died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
