This after a deep loss in the Indiana Primary, where Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump took more than 50% of the vote.
The conservative firebrand and Texas senator had tried to cast himself as the only viable alternative to the billionaire businessman. But his campaign said he was to announce his decision to drop out of the race after losing to Trump in Tuesday's Indiana primary.
A source close to his office confirms he is closing his Bakersfield office, after it opened just over 31 hours ago.
Local Kern County voters reacted to the news on Tuesday afternoon. Some said they weren't surprised and local Trump supporters said they were excited to see Trump take a commanding lead.
