BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, all in-person Hunter Education Program classes have been temporarily canceled in response to COVID-19. State Senator Shannon Grove tweeted out the information early Tuesday night.

California requires hunter education training for those who have never held a California hunting license, who do not have a hunter education certificate, or who do not have a hunting license from another state or province issued within the past two years.

Students usually have an option between in-class or online course, but until further notice, people will have to complete their hunter safety education online.
