BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Orchards Post Acute nursing home is reporting at least one COVID-19 related death at its location, according to data released by the California Department of Public Health.

According to the state, the facility located on 34th Street is listed as having at least one case among its residents and its health care workers and at least one death.

The state data only reports specific case numbers if they are greater than 11.

Kern County officials have stated that skilled nursing homes fall under the jurisdiction of the state.

These new numbers coming just days after the Kingston Healthcare Center announced a total of 9 deaths and 108 cases at its facility.
