Bakersfield College registered nursing students will be assisting during the coronavirus pandemic. BC and its community partners for health care clinicals are now partnering to help meet pressing local health care needs.
A group of 69 registered nursing students in their final semester at BC will be onboarded by local hospitals and work alongside a registered nurse and provide direct care to a group of patients. They will be assisting at Kern Medical, Dignity Health Systems, and Bakersfield Heart Hospital.
Many nursing students nationwide have had their education put on hold. These BC students will now be able to complete their required clinical hours and lectures at the same time and be eligible to sit for their national exam.
