Google Chrome has recently announced the release of an extension called Netflix Party which allows groups of friends to virtually watch their favorite movies and shows with each other amid COVID-19 concerns.

The extension also features a chat room.

To participate, a Google Chrome browser is needed, the extension and a Netflix subscription.

The steps to setting it up are as follows:

1. Go here and download the extension, click "Add extension."
2. Make sure your friends have also downloaded, then head to Netflix and play the show/movie you'd like to watch.
3. Click the "NP" button on your browser and enjoy.
