SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Gov. Gavin Newsom will hold a press conference Monday following the abrupt resignation of California Public Health Director Dr. Sonia Angell.
Newsom will provide an update on the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Angell announced her immediate resignation late Sunday night. This coming after the state announced a glitch within the COVID-19 reporting system. The glitch left up to 300,000 health records unprocessed over the past several weeks.
The issue was fixed last week and the state was working through the backlog as of Friday.
Newsom is expected to address the issue during his press briefing at Noon.
