BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A traveler on-board a United Airlines plane that landed at Meadows Field Airport Saturday was given medical attention by paramedics and transported by ambulance.

United Express flight 5722, landed at MFA at 3:32 p.m. from Denver, according to the flight's itinerary.

Marie Gonzales, told 23ABC news that her husband, a passenger on the plane, said that passengers and crew members were being held on the plane, while an ill passenger received medical attention from Hall Ambulance paramedics on the tarmac.

23ABC News was also on-scene, and witnessed paramedics providing medical assistance to a passenger, before they transported them.

After being held on the plane for about an hour, other passengers were allowed off the plane, according to Gonzalez. It is unclear how many total passengers were on the plane.

We reached out to the Kern County Public Health Services Department to see if the passenger is being tested for COVID-19.

So far, the department has not issued a comment.

A United Airlines media representative said they are looking into the matter and will provide an update when information is available.
