Kern County sees another spike in COVID-19 cases, with 12 new deaths

Another big spike in COVID-19 cases in Kern County Tuesday morning: public health reported 1,893 new cases. This brings the total number of local cases to 16,896.

According to public health, more than 10,000 of those cases are occurring in the 18 to 49 age group.

Public health also announced 12 new deaths, bringing the total in Kern County to 135.

Officials are also reporting just under 5,400 full recoveries with more than 11,000 people isolating at home.

Nearly 103,000 or 84-percent of all tests have come back negative.
