BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — New coronavirus cases continue to decline in the county but health officials say deaths are doing the opposite.

Public health says 4 more people died because of COVID-19 complications Wednesday. That number now sits at 664 since the pandemic started.

When it comes to new cases public health reported 449 new infections. The total for the county is now close to 99,000. Meanwhile, 33,000 people have recovered from the virus,
