BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — At about 9:13 p.m. on April 16, officers from the Bakersfield Police Department arrested Anthony Lee Lewis Jr., age 23, in the area of 19th Street and R Street. Lewis is connected to an April 14th stabbing in the same area.

According to the BPD, officers conducting surveillance in the area observed Lewis on foot in the area and immediately apprehended him, as it appeared he was following a female walking alone on the street. Lewis was wearing the same clothing the suspect was observed in during the April 14th assault. He was also found to be in possession of a knife.

The investigation linked Lewis to all three of the previously reported stabbings in the area. He was arrested for three counts of attempted murder and three counts of causing great bodily injury during the commission of a felony.

He was booked into the Kern County jail.
