(UPDATE: SEPT. 7) Two people have been arrested and booked on multiple accounts of attempted murder and gang participation following a shooting in South Bakersfield Friday morning.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the reports of a shooting that left at least one person with major injuries in South Bakersfield.

According to BPD, officers responded to the area of El Alisal Street, near Hughes and White lanes, just before 10 a.m. BPD confirmed at least one victim sustained major injuries.

Officers are still on the scene investigating.
