Bakersfield man arrested for attempting to ram 2 KCSO deputies, other charges

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On June 27, 36-year-old George Lopez was arrested on charges related to attempting to ram deputies, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle and evading an officer.

On Jan 24, the Kern County Sheriff's Office received a Lo-Jack warning around Bakersfield College regarding a stolen vehicle.

Deputies searched the area and found the car, a Toyota 4-Runner, in an alley with two people inside, including Lopez.

Lopez then attempted to ram deputies with the stolen vehicle, and leave the scene.

Lopez was booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
