Bakersfield man sentenced to 10 years in prison for meth, heroin trafficking

A Bakersfield man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for methamphetamine and heroin trafficking.

According to the Fresno County District Attorney's office, 36-year-old Hacel Alfredo Alvarez of Bakersfield received the sentence on Monday in addition to three years of supervised release. In addition, the judge ordered the forfeiture of Alvarez's home which was used to facilitate his drug trafficking activities.

According to court documents, during a search of the home officers found 21 pounds of meth and more than a pound of heroin at his home in Bakersfield along with $10,000 in cash.

Alvarez admitted that he had been distributing methamphetamine for more than a year and a half.
