Bakersfield Police Department make arrest, give citations for street racing

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department say they directed additional enforcement efforts towards street racing activity.

On Saturday night, police say they made 17 related traffic enforcement stops. Those stops resulted in 7 citations, 2 vehicle impounds, and one arrest for felony evading and reckless driving.

The stop occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. BPD asks that anyone with information regarding illegal street racing is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
