Bakersfield Police Department searching for suspect in auto theft at Fastrip store

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying a suspect in an auto theft that happened on October 17th. According to the BPD, the suspect entered the Fastrip on 34th Street and stole the victim's keys off the counter.

The vehicle was later stolen the same day from the 800 block of 33rd Street. It was finally recovered on October 18th after it was abandoned in the 1400 block of Lake Steet.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male about 30 to 40 years old. He stands between 5 foot 8 inches and 6 foot tall with a heavy build. He has shaved black hair and a black goatee. He was last seen wearing a white Nike t-shirt with "Man Up" printed on the front, dark blue jogging pants and black Nike sneakers.
