Bakersfield Police searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident.

According to the BPD, a woman was walking in the eastbound lane in the 500 block of California Avenue on Saturday night at around 8:30 p.m. when she was struck by a car. The car, described as a blue 2009-2013 Honda Fit failed to stop and fled the scene.

The woman suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She was listed in critical, but stable condition.
