BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police officers were dispatched to the East 3rd Street and Whitlock Street on May 7 at approximately 8:23 p.m. for a man down in the roadway.

Officers located the man at the scene and determined he was the victim of a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the man will be released by the Kern County Coroner's Office.
