BPD searching for suspect who may be involved in two sexual battery offenses

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police announced they are looking for a man who is suspected of sexually touching a woman and a girl who were jogging at different times around the same area of Southwest Bakersfield.

On Monday at 7:28 p.m., BPD received a call of a suspicious white man, approximately 50-years-old aggressively banging on front doors in a Prairie Stone Place and Evening Star Way neighborhood. Officials said he had light brown hair, was balding, wearing a buttoned grey shirt and red gym shorts.

Tuesday at 5:30 a.m., BPD said an anonymous caller reported a suspect sexually touched a woman who was jogging in 4000 block of Old River Road before taking off on foot. The victim described the suspect as a white or Hispanic man, 20-40 years old, around 5’10”, with a medium build, red hooded sweatshirt, tan shorts, black shoes, and a black face mask.

Then at 5:55 a.m. on Friday, a suspect sexually touched a young girl who was jogging on Windermere St. Police said the man ran off after the girl was helped by another jogger. The suspect was described as a white man, 30-40 years old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, 170-190 pounds, with light brown hair, balding, fair complexion, wearing a red shirt, black shorts, and a black face mask.

BPD said it is investigating these events as being possibly related.
