Coroner identifies man shot and killed in Southeast Bakersfield last week

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified a man shot and killed in Southeast Bakersfield last week as 30-year-old Anterrell Johnathan Jackson.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, Jackson was shot by another at Cottonwood Road and East Pacheco Road just after 8 p.m. last Monday.

Bakersfield Police responded to the scene and declared Jackson dead. An autopsy report was conducted and the coroner ruled the cause of death as a single gunshot wound to the chest.

This case was ruled a homicide and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call BPD at (661) 327-7111.
