BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a deputy-involved shooting that took place Tuesday night.

According to KCSO, deputies arrived in the area of the 2400 block of E. California around 8:15 p.m. to serve a search warrant. The details of the search warrant were not readily available.

Officials said the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. and a man was injured and taken to an area hospital in stable condition. No deputies were injured.

East California was closed in both directions east of Mount Vernon during the incident.
