The Kern County Coroner has determined a fetus found in a trash bin Monday was non-human. According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, it was "a doll and the appearance was like a small fetus."

The KCSO went on to explain that the doll was a prop that had been altered to look like a human fetus.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office investigated after the deceased "fetus" was found in a dumpster in the area of Dalea Street and Meadow Grove Court in Oildale. Officials told 23ABC that a person rummaging through the dumpster discovered it and made the call to 911.

The initial discovery resulted in homicide detectives being called to the scene. Detectives determined that it was disposed of in a dumpster several days prior in the 700 block of Meadow Grove Court.
