Four cars impounded as result of street racing operation

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police impounded several cars in their efforts to put the brakes on street racing. The BPD conducted two operations over the weekend.

The first on Friday resulted in 11 citations with another 10 tickets on Saturday. A total of four cars were impounded. Officials say two people were arrested for grand theft auto.

Additional operations are reportedly scheduled over the next few weeks.
